I started Rooted AF because I was straight-up done with toxic junk sneaking into my home and onto my body. I wanted full control over what was touching my skin—and I sure as heck didn’t want to pay a gagillion dollars for it.

So I got to work.

It all started about 10 years ago, when I planted my first garden. Something about digging in the dirt and growing my own food flipped a switch in me. I realized how capable I was—and how much crap was going in, on, and around my body. A single Netflix documentary sent me spiraling (in a good way), and suddenly I couldn’t stop asking:

“What is really good for me?”

The answer? Definitely not the chemical-filled skincare I was using. So I ditched it. I started making my own—whipping up clean, effective products in my kitchen, using real ingredients I could trust. For years, I gave them away as gifts. People loved them. My gut kept nudging me:

“You should turn this into something.”

And this year, I finally listened.
